Trust badges are icons or logos that can communicate to your customers that your website and your products are secure, legitimate and trustworthy.

A. Why should brands use trust badges on the website?

Brands can use trust badges on the website to communicate the following to their customers:

  1. Website security: Trust badges can instill confidence in website visitors that their personal and financial information is safe and the website is reputable.
  2. Brand values: Brands also use trust badges to convey their core brand values and appeal to like-minded customers who may resonate with/ support a purpose-driven brand (eg- Made in India, Cruelty-free, Gluten-free etc.).
  3. Industry-specific certifications: Trust badges can be used to highlight the quality of your products (eg- ISO certification, FSSAI licenses, FDA approvals etc.).
  4. Highlight service terms: Trust badges can be used to prominently present a snapshot of key terms of service (like COD, returns & exchange etc.).

B. What are the default trust badges for your website?

When you create a website, you will see a set of 4 default trust badges updated on your homepage and product detail pages. These are :

i) Secure Payments,

ii) Timely Delivery,

iii) Assured Quality,

iv) Made in India.

C. How can you update the trust badges on your website?

1. Login to your SmartBiz account, navigate to 'Profile' and click on 'Update Trust Badges'.


2. You will see your default badges updated on the screen. Tap on any of the badge to update it.

3. Select the type of badge you want to choose for your website. You will see a library of icons that you can choose from. Tap on the badge of your choice and it will start reflecting on your preview screen.

   

4. After updating, click on “Save” to save the changes. The update will start reflecting on your website.

5. You can update all of your badges following the process mentioned above.

Note:

  • You can update 4 badges on your website. We are currently not providing the option to add fewer/ more badges.
  • Out of these 4, you can choose as many badges as you want from any of the badge category.
  • Please ensure accuracy of the trust badges updated on your website to avoid customer frustration. Do not update a badge that is not relevant/ true for your business.

3. Can I choose multiple badges in the same category?

- Yes, you can choose as many icons as you want (up to a max. of 4) from any icon category.

4. How do I decide which icon to choose?

-To make it easier for you, we have also shared some recommendations on icons that you can choose from your website. However, please ensure accuracy of the selected icon for your business to avoid poor customer experience. For example, please don’t update “Free delivery” in case you charge a delivery fee.
