How to set up and edit widgets in the Widget Editor (Chic Fame Theme)

Introduction
Widgets let you customise the layout and content of your SmartBiz storefront (Chic Fame theme) by adding sections like banners, featured products, collections, and more. This helps your customers discover products faster and improves conversions.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the SmartBiz Desktop Seller App

  • Active SmartBiz store with Chic Fame theme applied

 

Step 1: Open the Widget Editor

  1. Open the SmartBiz Desktop Seller App.

  2. Go to Storefront → Themes.

  3. Select Chic Fame.

  4. Click Edit Widgets.

 

Step 2: Add a new widget

  1. Click Add Widget (+)

  2. Choose the widget you want (e.g., Image Banner, Testimonials, Collection Highlights).

  3. Click Confirm to insert it on your homepage.

 

Step 3: Edit widget content

  1. Click the widget you want to modify.

  2. In the widget panel:

    • Update the title and text

    • Change the image

    • Add or edit buttons or links

  3. Use the preview to verify your content.

 

Step 4: Reorder or remove widgets

  1. Drag and drop widgets to rearrange their order on the page.

  2. Click the three-dot (⋮) menu on any widget card to:

    • Duplicate a widget

    • Remove a widget

Changes are shown in the preview instantly.

 

Step 5: Change colours

  1. Click on theme

  2. Adjust the colours and font according to your preference

Step 6: Edit global components

  1. From the Widget Editor, open the Component Editor.

  2. Customize global elements like:

    • Buttons

    • Product cards

    • Price tags

    • Badges

These component settings apply across the entire storefront.

Step 7: Save and publish your changes

  1. Review your homepage layout in the preview.

  2. Click Save to publish the updates to your store.

 

FAQs

  1. Can I undo changes before saving?
    Yes — changes are only applied to your live store after you click Save.

  2. Can I reuse a widget I already configured?
    Yes — use Duplicate from the three-dot menu to replicate a widget.

  3. Do widget settings apply to all themes?
    No — widgets are configured separately per theme. Changes in Chic Fame won’t affect other themes.
