Introduction

Buy X Get Y offers help you increase cart value by encouraging customers to purchase multiple products together at a discounted price. This article explains how you can create and activate a Buy X Get Y offer using the Desktop Seller App via SmartBiz. When set up correctly, this offer improves conversions, highlights savings clearly to customers, and boosts overall order value.

Prerequisites

Before creating the offer, ensure that:

  • You can log in to Desktop Seller App.
  • Your products are already added and live on your store.
  • You have enough inventory for both Buy (X) and Get (Y) products.

In this article, you’ll learn how to:

a) Navigate to the offers section

1. Log in to Desktop Seller App.



2. Navigate to the Growth section from the dashboard and open Offers & Discounts


 

3. Click Create Offer to begin

b) Create a Buy X Get Y offer


1. From the list of offer types, select Buy X Get Y

 

2. Enter an Offer Name (for example: Buy 2 Get 1 at 50% Off) and click Next to continue.

c) Select products and quantities


(i) Define Buy (X) products:

1. Choose Specific Products or a product category.


2. Search and select the products customers must buy. 





3. Enter the required quantity (for example, Buy 2).


(ii) Define Get (Y) products:

1. Select the product customers will receive at a discount.









2. Enter the quantity (for example, Get 1).


 

d) Choose discount type and value


1. Under Offer Benefit, choose one of the following:

  • Percentage discount
  • Flat discount amount
  • Free product



2. Enter the discount value (for example, 50% off).


3. Set a maximum discount amount if required and review the offer structure before proceeding.

e) Set offer duration and activate

1. Under Offer Duration, click on the Calendar icon and Select the Start Date.



2. Choose an End Date, or leave it blank to keep the offer active until you disable it.

3. Review all offer details carefully and click Create Offer to activate it.


 

f) Verify the offer on your website


1. Open your store website and go to the All Products page

2. Select a product included in the offer.


3. Add the required Buy (X) quantity to the cart.


4. View the products in offer and add the Get (Y) product to the cart.
 


5. Open the Cart page and confirm:

  • The offer is applied successfully
  • The discount amount is reflected correctly

Q1: Can I run the offer without an end date?
Yes. If you don’t select an end date, the offer will remain active until you manually disable it.

Q2: Can customers mix different products to qualify?
Yes, as long as the products are part of the selected Buy and Get sets.

Q3: Can I change the discount later?
Yes. You can edit or disable the offer anytime from Offers & Discounts.
