Introduction
Creating shipments with Amazon Shipping lets you deliver orders received on your SmartBiz site and other sales channels using a unified, reliable shipping service to ensure faster delivery and better tracking for your customers. This guide explains how to create single and bulk shipments, enter required details, generate shipping labels, and track your packages—all within the Amazon Shipping portal.
Prerequisites
Before creating shipments, ensure that:
You have access to the Amazon Shipping portal
Your orders are confirmed and ready for dispatch
You know the customer shipping address and package dimensions/weight
You have your shipping account set up (pickup location and contact details are accurate)
Single Shipment Creation
Use this method for creating a shipment for one order at a time.
Step 1: Open Single Shipment Dashboard
Log in to your Amazon Shipping portal.
Click the Single Shipment Creation tab.
You will see three sections:
Ready to Ship (orders ready for dispatch)
Needs Package Details (orders missing package info)
Ship with Another Carrier (optional delivery option)
Step 2: Enter Shipping Details
Select the order you want to ship.
Enter Shipping From (your pickup address).
Enter Shipping To (customer’s address).
Note: All fields except Landmark are required.
If the customer’s email is missing, enter your own to receive tracking notifications.
Step 3: Add Package Details
Enter package dimensions (length, width, height).
Enter weight of the package.
Add product description for the shipment.
Provide invoice details (invoice number, date, and value).
Select COD if this is a cash-on-delivery shipment.
Step 4: Review & Print Label
Confirm your shipment reference (this helps you identify the shipment).
Choose the shipping speed—you’ll see cost and delivery estimate.
Confirm that the products do not contain hazardous materials.
Click Review and Print to generate and print the shipping label.
Bulk Shipment Creation
Use this method to create shipments for multiple orders at once.
Step 1: Open Bulk Shipment Dashboard
Go to the Bulk Shipment tab.
Similar to single shipments, you’ll see sections like Ready to Ship and Needs Package Details.
Step 2: Download and Fill Template
Click Download Template to get the bulk shipment spreadsheet (.xlsx).
Open the file and fill in required fields for each order (up to 100 orders).
Do not change the template structure.
Fill all mandatory fields accurately.
Step 3: Upload and Submit
Upload the completed Excel file.
Check the Non-Hazardous Materials Certification box.
Click Print to generate all shipping labels in bulk.
Track Your Shipments
Once shipments are created:
Go to the Tracking tab in the Amazon Shipping portal.
Use filters to view shipments by status (e.g., in transit, delivered).
Download reports via the Action tab for further analysis.
Packaging and Label Guidelines
Follow these packaging standards to avoid delays and ensure delivery success:
Shipping label: Use white sticky label sheets (4″ x 6″).
Don’t place labels on folds or seams; ensure barcode is clear and unobstructed.
Packaging quality: Corrugated boxes for heavy items, sealed tightly with fillers.
Declared weight/dimensions must be accurate; mismatch may lead to order suspension.
Polymailers must be recyclable and >50 microns thick.
Items >2.5 kg must be in cartons.
Packages not meeting guidelines may still be picked up, but damage claims may not be approved.
Restricted Items
Amazon does not accept hazardous materials, including:
Explosives, gases, flammable liquids/solids
Oxidizers, toxins, radioactive substances
Corrosives
Other prohibited items as per law and destination restrictions
If you tender restricted items, you are solely liable for any consequences.
FAQs
What’s the difference between single and bulk shipment creation?
Single shipment is for one order at a time.
Bulk shipment lets you upload up to 100 orders and process them together using an Excel template.
What if I miss entering package dimensions?
Package weight and dimensions are mandatory. You must enter them before proceeding to print the label.
What do I do if my shipment contains restricted items?
You cannot ship hazardous or restricted items. Remove them before creating the shipment.
Why do labels need to be 4″ x 6″?
This size is required for barcode scanners and to meet pickup standards. Failing to use the correct label size can delay scanning and delivery.
Can I ship orders to multiple carriers in bulk?
No. Bulk shipment upload uses the Amazon Shipping workflow. If you plan to ship some orders through other carriers, process those separately outside the bulk workflow.
