Managing your inventory on Smart-Biz just got easier! If you have a large catalog and need to quickly update stock levels across multiple products, our Bulk Inventory Upload feature is here to save you time and effort. Instead of manually editing inventory for each item, you can upload a single file to update your entire catalog in just a few simple steps. This guide will walk you through the process, making bulk inventory management a breeze.
1. Bulk Inventory Upload
Step 1: Access the Catalog Section
Step 2: Open the Bulk Actions Menu
Step 3: Download the Bulk Inventory Sheet
Step 4: Modify the Inventory Values in the Spreadsheet
Example:
Step 5: Upload the Updated Bulk Inventory Sheet
Step 6: Wait for the File to Be Processed
Step 7: Inventory Goes Live
2. Manage Inventory
If you have added inventory for an SKU, it will automatically get marked as out of stock on your storefront when inventory becomes 0.
Note: Inventory reduces when a customer makes a successful payment on your storefront. If an order is either cancelled by the customer or rejected by you, inventory will get updated accordingly.
Important Tips and Best Practices
- Do not edit other columns: The system relies on specific product data to match and update the inventory correctly. Editing columns such as product names or IDs will cause errors and may result in inventory mismatches.
- Always save your file: After editing the inventory values, ensure you save your changes in the correct format (CSV) before uploading.
- Double-check inventory values: A simple mistake, such as entering “0” when you meant to leave the field empty for infinite inventory, can lead to products being marked as out of stock.
- Keep a backup: It's a good practice to keep a backup of your original inventory sheet in case you need to make corrections.
