1. Access Bulk Upload Tools
To access Bulk Upload, Log in to your Desktop Seller App.
2. Click "Catalog"
Navigate to the Catalog section in your SmartBiz dashboard to begin managing your product listings.
3. Download Bulk Upload Template
Locate and select the Bulk Add Products option to prepare for uploading multiple items at once.
4. Click "Bulk Add Products"
Download the bulk upload template file to your computer for product data entry.
5. Click "Download"
Open the downloaded Excel template and fill in your product details accurately following the provided format.
6. Click "Choose file"
Return to the Bulk Add Products page and upload your completed Excel template by selecting the Choose File button.
7. Fill the Bulk Upload template
Confirm your file selection and click Continue to initiate the bulk upload process.
8. Click "Continue"
Review the upload summary and address any errors or warnings highlighted by the system.
9. Edit Products
Access the Edit Products section to make further adjustments to your listings if necessary.

1. What file formats are supported for bulk upload?
Only the CSV template provided by SmartBiz should be used. Uploading files in other formats (Excel, TXT, etc.) will result in errors.
2. Why is my CSV file not uploading even though I used the template?
This can happen if:
Columns were added, removed, or renamed
The CSV was saved in an incorrect format (e.g., UTF-16 instead of UTF-8)
Mandatory fields (like SKU or product name) were left blank
Always download a fresh template and fill it without altering column headers.
3. Why do I see errors after uploading the file?
Error messages usually indicate:
Invalid attribute values (e.g., incorrect category codes)
Mismatched or missing SKUs
Invalid prices or negative values
Incorrect HSN/Tax data
Check the error message details, correct the corresponding rows/columns, and upload again.
4. The upload says “Success” but products are not showing in my catalog. Why?
A success message means the file passed basic validation, but products may still be in a pending processing state. Refresh the catalog after a few minutes. If some rows fail due to invalid data, only valid rows get added.
5. Can I upload more than 1,000 rows at once?
SmartBiz may have limits on the number of rows per upload to avoid performance issues. If your file exceeds the allowed limit, split it into multiple files and upload each separately.
6. What should I do if I get a “Duplicate SKU” error?
Duplicate SKU errors occur when the same SKU is entered multiple times within the file or already exists in your catalog. Ensure each SKU is unique and not already used in your store.
7. Why are some products showing “Missing Required Field”?
This means a mandatory field was left blank. Common required fields include:
Product Name
SKU
Selling Price
Category
Ensure all required fields are filled before uploading.
8. Can I include images in the bulk upload?
Images are not uploaded with the CSV file itself. Instead, you should provide image URLs in the designated column. Make sure the links are publicly accessible.
9. Why is my product not appearing in the right category?
Ensure the Category Code / Category Name exactly matches SmartBiz’s accepted values. Mismatches (even due to capitalization or extra spaces) can cause incorrect category assignment.
10. What happens if only some rows in my file are valid?
SmartBiz will process the valid rows and reject the invalid ones. You will see an upload report indicating which rows failed and why. Correct those rows and re-upload them.
11. Can I update existing products using bulk upload?
Yes — if you include the correct SKU for an existing product and provide updated values in other fields, the bulk upload will update the product details accordingly.
12. Why does the file upload take a long time?
Upload time depends on file size and server processing. Large files with many rows or complex data may take longer. If it takes too long, try uploading smaller files in batches.

The price column was left blank
